Synchronized belt drive is a kind of meshing transmission between belt teeth and belt gear slots. Compared with gear meshing transmission, it also has the advantages of uniform instantaneous speed (i.e., good synchronization) and high transmission efficiency, but it has the advantages of larger speed ratio range, higher allowable linear speed, larger wheel spacing, smaller transmission noise, larger power-to-weight ratio, and no lubrication, convenient replacement and low price. Of course, its transmission power is generally smaller than gear transmission, which is just suitable for the company's small power and large wheel pitch transmission, so it has been widely used.


Selection of Synchronous Belt Drive Types:

       Synchronization belts have basically been standardized. China's standard GB/T11616-1989 and GB/T11362-1989 are equivalent to international standard ISO5274-1989.

Synchronization belts can be divided into two categories: trapezoidal and arc-shaped.

The trapezoidal tooth synchronous belt is relatively easy to make and low in price, but the stress concentration at the root of the tooth affects the bearing capacity and life, and the greater vibration, noise and interference also affect the belt speed. The stress distribution of the arc tooth synchronous belt is more reasonable, the interference is smaller, and the life of the trapezoidal tooth is about twice as long as that of the trapezoidal tooth.

       Synchronous pulleyThe meshing parameters, such as tooth type and pitch, are the same as those of synchronous belt. Only the number (or diameter) and structure of teeth need to be determined. The number of teeth (or diameter) of synchronous belt pulley is generally determined first by the number of teeth of small wheel, then by the transmission ratio to determine the number of teeth of large wheel. In order to ensure the proper life of synchronous belt, smallSynchronous pulleyThe diameter is larger than the allowable minimum bending diameter in the table above, and then converted to the minimum number of teeth. Considering the lifetime of the synchronous belt as long as the structure and cost permit,It is better to have a little more teeth than the minimum allowable number of teeth. After the number of teeth of the small wheel is determined, the number of teeth of the large wheel can be determined according to the transmission ratio. Then the center distance of the two pulleys is determined according to the structure, and the length of the pitch or the total number of teeth are calculated according to the pitch of the synchronous belt. So far, all the transmission parameters have been determined.
       Synchronous pulleyThere are many kinds of structures, which can be divided into flangeless (that is, only the gear teeth with flaps at both ends) and flanged (that is, there is a cylindrical flange besides the gear teeth with flaps at both ends). From the point of view of the way of connecting with the shaft, there are three kinds: screw, key and expansion sleeve (so-called keyless connection). The screw connection is simple and easy to be loaded and unloaded, but the concentricity of the axle wheel is poor, and the corresponding flat square or socket should be processed on the axle; the advantages and disadvantages of the key connection are self-evident; although the performance of the rising sleeve connection is good, the cost is high.
